METHYLSUFONYLMETHANE (MSM)
MSM is organic sulfur and is found in every cell of all plants and animals. It is the fourth most plentiful mineral in our bodies and is involved in nearly every metabolic process in the body. MSM restores flexibility to the protein layer of cell walls, allowing nutrients to pass through the tissue freely while facilitating the release of harmful substances. This restored flexibility and permeability in rigid fibrous tissue cells helps to relieve the causes of swelling and inflammation, which our nerves register as pain. Thus, by reducing this pressure buildup in cells, MSM treats the cause of inflammation, unlike over-the-counter products that merely dull our perception of pain. These properties also make it instrumental in relieving stress, asthma, allergies, arthritis, muscle cramps, and constipation, as well as increasing blood circulation, energy and repair of connective tissues, and improving skin, hair and nails.

Dietary sources of MSM include eggs, red peppers, milk, grains, legumes, animal proteins, onions, garlic, asparagus, cabbage, brussels sprouts, turnips and broccoli. Cooking and processing, however, reduce the level of bioavailable MSM. People who do not eat eggs or milk or are on low protein diets may suffer from a sulfur deficiency, which is difficult to differentiate clinically from a protein deficiency - a condition of much greater concern. There is no known toxicity associated with supplemental MSM: our bodies use what is needed and flush any excess amounts.

MSM is not related to sulfa drugs, to which some people have an allergy.

MOLYBDENUM
Molybdenum helps to regulate the body's pH. For each level increase in pH, the body's oxygen level increased tenfold. This mineral can also help to induce a good night's sleep.
